This unit of study explores the major concepts and frameworks of community health nursing based on primary health care (PHC) principles. We draw on public health concepts to focus on health promotion, illness prevention, community assessment and management of public health issues as a means of integrating care and empowering individuals and their families to manage their health and well-being throughout life.
