This unit extends students' language skills to an advanced level in order to achieve confidence and proficiency in written and spoken Japanese. Students undertake activities built around topics relating to a variety of language styles – including, but not limited to, gender, dialect, youth speech, class, and loan-words – and examine their usage in Japanese culture and society.
