This unit provides students with analytical tools to understand and evaluate different forms of human activity upon the planet's ecosystems. Approaching the concept of 'the anthropocene' as a conceptual platform of social/political/cultural reflection, it will introduce students to contemporary critiques of development and the environment, environmental humanities and multispecies justice.
